A small clarification about the avataras in Navaratri

We all know that during this Sharannavaratri we worship The Goddess Adishakti in nine different forms.  But there are two different types of these nine forms.  In one form they worship the Goddess in the for of nine Goddesses like Bala, Gayatri Lakshmi etc... and in another form they worship the Goddess in her nine Shakti forms like shailaputri, chandraghanta, siddhidhatri etc.  Shaakteya worshipers ( who believe the Shakti is the ultimate n worship her) perform puja to the nine Shakti forms.  And other people worship in all Goddesses' forms.
