Legumes n Lentils help in reducing obesity

   Today am going to write about legumes n Lentils.  These super r foods packed with vital nutrients.  They r high in protein, low in fat.  They r packed with some carbohydrates n dietary.  They provide us vitamins B6, A, C. They provide calcium, iron, Folate, Zinc n some other vital minerals which r essential for our health. 

    In Indian cooking these Lentils n Legumes r an essential part.  we all have some favourite dishes like Rajma chaval, Chole Bature, Kaabuli chana Moong daal kichidi etc.....  we do remember our Mothers adding green peas n chickpeas in some curries like cabbage, brinjal, grated coconut n some leafy vegetables also.  In our temples also especially in South India they give cooked chickpeas as Prasad on some festivals.

   These foods help us in fighting obesity also.  We can loose weight without loosing the intake of vital nutrients.  If u include these in ur daily meals, u can easily achieve the requisite results.  Beans, chickpeas, Kidney Beans, Lobia, double beans, Peas n Peanuts r some Legumes.  Nuts also come under this category.  Lentils r also of this group. 

   We all know eating sprouts is good for health.  We prepare n eat Lentil sprouts along with vegetable sprouts.  Here am going to give u one easy recipe with any of these seeds to reduce weight.  It is really easy to prepare n u can have it as it tastes really good.

   Take just 100 grams of any of these Beans, Peas, like Kidney beans, green peas, Lobia, chickpeas etc.... soak them in water over night.  in the morning remove the water n clean them.  cook them without oil by just adding water. Take 3 r 4 Tomatoes n cut them in to pieces. When the beans r half cooked, then add these Tomatoes, later on add salt to taste, some pepper powder.  When they r completely cooked, take half tea spoon cow ghee n heat it, when it is hot add half a spoon jeera n some curry leaves n pour the mix just like tadka.  U can add coriander leaves r mint leaves also to garnish.  It serves to 2 people. 

   If u r on a strict diet, then just eat this as it is without any roti r bread.  Other wise u can eat it with two slices of multigrain bread r brown bread, some rotis r pulkas also.  U can have this as breakfast r dinner.  It is good for children as a snack in the evening.  We tried this recipe at home n had good results. Pls. try this.  Have good health.  Eat healthy n reduce weight at the same time by eating some low calorie foods.
