Pallandu Pallandu - Dravida paashuram




This pashuram is very important to Shrivaishnavaites   They recite this in their prayers called sevakaalam.  It is one of the most popular pashurams.   In this poem Periyalwaar  wishes to be near The God all the time.  It gives us the true meaning of surrenderance to God.  He is also known as Vishnuchitta.  Sri Andaal (Goda Devi) is his daughter who was completely immersed in Vishnu bhakti and wrote 30 pashurams which r called Thiruppavai and later on married Lord Srhi Ranganadha. 

Vaishnavaites believe that if u hear/recite this poem everyday during pujas/sevakalam, it gives u all good things n fulfill ur wishes.  They even recite this on the death anniversary of their elders so that they get moksha.
